The length
Measure your penis sitting with your back straight, when your erection is at its peak. Place a ruler along your belly, and press it down along your pubic bone. Then place your penis on the ruler and take the measurement.
A ruler is easier than a tape measure. Don't cheat! It's more fun if you don't exaggerate!
Because everyone is different and some people have a little more fat than others at the base of the penis, apply the ruler by pressing firmly against the pubic bone. This gives a more consistent starting point for measurement. The measurement is taken with the glans uncovered, so as not to take into account any foreskin skin that may be protruding.
The girth
You'll need to know the circumference of your penis. To do this, measure the circumference of your penis with a tape measure. Measure around the middle. Avoid leaving any slack, and be careful not to pinch your skin!
Your penis at rest
In our comparator you can also enter your resting size by clicking on the "Adjust resting size" button.
As the size of a flaccid penis varies slightly throughout the day, this can be more approximate. The ideal is to measure it quickly at a time when you're not thinking about it at all. Indeed, in most cases, when measured, a penis quickly gains one or two centimetres in a matter of seconds by the mere act of handling it. Here too, the measurement is made with the glans unhooded, upwards, pressed against the belly in the same way as when erect. Don't measure it while it's hanging down.
If you want a true measurement at rest, the best time is in the middle of the night when you're asleep! Obviously it's complicated to measure while you're asleep, but if you're a couple, you can ask your partner to do it if he/she sometimes wakes up while you're asleep.
But be warned: the studies you're about to compare yourself with haven't gone that far! The resting measurements were taken during the day, without any special conditions.
